Sports director Walter Sabatini states that the club and Daniele De Rossi will not go their separate ways.

The negotiations between the capital team and the midfielder regarding the extension of the contract stalled when "Roma" failed to qualify for next year's UEFA Champions League tournament.

Although the current 27-year-old player's contract is valid only until June 30, 2012, Sabatini is confident that one of the club's symbols will continue to wear the yellow-red jersey: "We are not planning to weaken the team by selling De Rossi.

He told me he wants to stay, so we will reach a mutual agreement."

During an interview with "Sky Sports Italia," the sports director revealed that next week the club will be joined by Chichono "Sporting" left-back Jose Angel, who was heavily sought after by Barcelona.

"Roma" is also looking to acquire Amsterdam's "Ajax" goalkeeper Maarten Stekelenburg, who would replace Artur, who left for Lisbon's "Benfica," and retain forward Mirko Vucinic, who is unhappy with his position in the team.
