While the majority of national teams played friendly matches, World Cup qualifying matches took place in Europe.
Spain moved up to second place in Group 7, crushing San Marino 5-0 at home and equalizing with Lithuania in terms of points while surpassing them in goal difference.
In the upcoming matches on March 30, Spain will face group leaders Serbia and Montenegro, Lithuania will travel to Bosnia, and San Marino will play against Belgium, who will face Bosnia four days prior.
Another surprise in Group 1 came from Andorra, who after securing their first victory in October in their football history, managed to avoid a loss for the first time in an away game, drawing against Macedonia.
In Group 2, Ukraine further solidified their position by defeating Albania away and now holding a six-point advantage over European Champions Greece, who defeated Denmark at home.
