The world of Turkish football was shaken by a massive scandal: the president of one of the most famous clubs in Istanbul, along with 29 other individuals, was arrested as an investigation into possible match-fixing began.
According to reports, at least two Turkish footballers have also been put behind bars - Serkan Calik, a forward for "Genclerbirgligi," and Serdar Kulbilge, a goalkeeper for "Ankaragucu."
Police have also detained several executives from "Fenerbahce," the vice president of "Trabzonspor," a board member of "Eskisehirspor," and others.
The focus of the investigation is on matches from the previous season of the Turkish championship. One of them is the victory of the country's champion, "Fenerbahce," with a score of 4-3 against "Sivasspor."
