The Spanish club has acquired Montpellier defender Emir Spahić, who has signed a three-year contract.
The 30-year-old player was also being pursued by London's Arsenal, but the negotiations broke down.
"I just have to pass a medical examination," - said Spahić.
The captain of the Bosnia and Herzegovina national team became the fourth acquisition of Sevilla this summer. Earlier, the team was reinforced by the German Peter Trochowski, the Uruguayan Martín Caceres and the Spaniard Manu del Moral.
