Birmingham rejected a nearly €17 million offer for the out-of-favor defender Stewart Downing, announces BBC.
According to the report, the 26-year-old footballer will only be sold if the sum reaches €22 million.
The Englishman does not hide his desire to move to another team, therefore he refuses to extend his contract with Aston Villa. London's Arsenal is also interested in him.
It is also reported in the media that if talks for Downing fall through, Liverpool would try to lure Valencia's defender Juan Mata.
