Moscow has acquired Amsterdam's security Demy de Zeeuw for 7 million euros.
The 28-year-old footballer signed a long-term contract and joined his team mates, who are currently training in Austria.
Last season, De Zeeuw, who became a Dutch champion for the second time with Ajax, has represented his country 27 times.
After 16 matches in the Russian championship, Spartak is in seventh place and will compete in the UEFA Europa League tournament.
