The club has reached an agreement with and will acquire the security of Charlie Adam for about 10 million euros. In addition, the ranks of the English team should also be supplemented by the reserve goalkeeper Doni without a transfer fee.
25-year-old Adam has already left for Liverpool, where he will undergo a medical examination and sign the contract. The footballer, who was also interested in London Tottenham, did not hide his desire to move to Liverpool, but negotiations between the clubs dragged on.
The Scottish agreement with the Blackpool team, which dropped out of the English Premier League, was supposed to be valid until the end of the next season. He was acquired in 2009 from Glasgow Rangers for a relatively modest sum of 600,000 euros.
Adam will be the second Liverpool acquisition this summer. Earlier, young midfielder Jordan Henderson was acquired for more than 20 million euros.
In the footsteps of the midfielders should follow Brazilian goalkeeper Doni, who will sign a two-year contract. Roma did not demand a ransom for him, as the footballer played a minor role.
"We just need to resolve a few details with Roma," said Doni's agent Ovidio Colucci, whose client will take on the role of a backup goalkeeper. The main lineup is already secured by Spanish goalkeeper Pepe Reina.
