The new head coach Marcelo Bielsa has been appointed.
This decision was made after the club's presidential elections, in which Jose Urrutia surpassed Fernando Macua who held this position until now by more than 2 thousand votes.
Bielsa will replace Joaquin Caparros, with whom "Athletic" finished sixth in the Spanish championship.
The Argentine led the Chilean national team from 2007 to 2011, and has also coached the national team of his native Argentina.
He was among the candidates to take over at Inter Milan, but the negotiations fell through.
