At the vineyard, a football player hangs up his boots, leaving a bright trace in history.

37-year-old Sylvio Mendes Campos Junior, better known to the fans of the Catalan team as Sylvinho, officially announced that he is ending his professional career.

The left-back learned the secrets of football at the "Corinthians" club, from where he went to London's "Arsenal" in 1999. After two years, the Brazilian moved to Spain and put on the jersey of Vigo's "Celta", and in 2004 he was acquired by "Barcelona".

During the five years spent in Catalonia, Sylvinho became the champion of La Liga three times, won the UEFA Champions League trophy twice, as well as the Spanish Super Cup twice, and once celebrated victory in the King's Cup tournament.

In 2009, the defender moved to "Manchester City", but his contract was terminated after just one season by mutual agreement.

"Barcelona will always remain in my heart. I would like to thank the club for the opportunity to play here. I am happy with the moments spent here and the victories achieved together," - these are the words of the Brazilian quoted by the official website of the Spanish champions.
