The club signed a one-year contract with free agent Jonathan Woodgate.
The 31-year-old footballer has recently been wearing the London Tottenham shirt, but due to constant injuries, he rarely helped the team on the field. Considering this, his salary at Stoke will depend on the number of games played.
"Jonathan is a player of the highest level," said Stoke manager Tony Pulis. "We all know about his injuries, but we are confident that with proper care he can help us on the field."
And he added: "We know that Woodgate was of interest to more than one Premier League club, so we are pleased that the defender chose Stoke."
