For approximately 13.5 million euros, defender Jerome Boateng agreed to sell to the Munich club. After passing a medical examination, the footballer will sign a four-year contract.

The 22-year-old Boateng has recently been preparing for the season in Los Angeles with Man City.

"The negotiations were long and intense, but ultimately we reached an agreement that satisfied both parties," said Bayern's executive director Karl-Heinz Rummenigge. "Boateng was the main candidate for the central defender position."

The German became Bayern's fifth acquisition this summer after goalkeeper Manuel Neuer, defender Rafinha, forward Nils Petersen, and rising Japanese football star Takashi Usami.
