On Saturday, two intriguing matches took place in the Italian championship. Trying to get closer to the leaders, Milan's "Inter" met "Roma" at home, while crisis-stricken "Lazio" fought with the underdog "Atalanta" in important matches.
In the match between two inconsistent teams this season, "Inter" celebrated victory - in a tense match, both goals were scored by Serb S. Mihajlovič with penalty shots, taking his team ahead in the middle of the first half and securing the win at the end of the match.
After this victory, the "Inter" team rose to third place in the standings and extended their streak of 27 consecutive matches without a loss, thus improving the 25-year-old club record.
In the other match of the day, struggling "Lazio" met "Atalanta" and managed to recover after missing a goal before halftime, immediately equalizing the result, and later snatching victory in the last minute of the match. It was like a turn of fortune, as in the previous two matches "Lazio" lost in the last moments.
"Atalanta", experiencing their fourteenth defeat, remains in last place, while "Lazio" has slightly pulled away from the bottom teams and at least temporarily jumped to 13th place.
