Lisbon's defenders were joined by Ezequiel Garay, who wore the shirt of Madrid. The deal value could reach around 6-10 million euros.

The 24-year-old Argentine will fill the gap left by David Luiz, who moved to Chelsea in London at the end of January, and will form a tandem with Luisao in the ranks of the Portuguese vice-champions.

Garay arrived at Real from Racing in Santander in 2008, but he failed to establish himself in the main lineup. Last season, he played only five matches in the Spanish championship.

Currently, Garay represents the Argentine national team at the "Copa America" championship.
