The Lithuanian champion Panevėžio "Ekranas" broke through to the third qualifying round of the Champions League for the first time in the club's history. This became clear after the second stage matches, in which the team from Panevėžys defeated "Valletta" from Malta 1-0 and celebrated victory with an overall result of 4-2.
The only goal of the match was scored by defender Ignas Dedura in the 4th minute after a header from a corner.
In the next stage, "Ekranas" will face the Belarusian champion BATE Borisov, who defeated "Linfield" from Northern Ireland with an overall result of 3-1.
The first match will take place in Lithuania next week.
