The club president Juan Soleras announced that he does not want to make any changes to the coaching staff of the team at least until the end of this season. In this way, J. Soleras denied the rumors circulating for some time that in the near future the head coach from Italy, C. Ranieri, could be dismissed due to the poor performance of the team.
This weekend, "Valencia" suffered a second defeat at home, losing to "Deportivo" team who are not experiencing the best times. Therefore, having failed to win five consecutive matches under the leadership of C. Ranieri, the team practically lost all chances of defending the Spanish champions title, as they are already 16 points behind the leader, "Barcelona".
Moreover, after these matches, the "Valencia" players were booed by their own fans, and C. Ranieri again faced harsh criticism for the match result, as well as for the fact that the Argentinean Pablo Aimar, a fan favorite, appeared on the field only after a substitution.
"Basically, we are not planning to make any decisions until June 30th," said Juan Soleras. "We will decide after evaluating what happened. Now we will start playing again in the middle of the week, so changes wouldn't be beneficial."
Nevertheless, the president warned C. Ranieri about the poor results, as important matches in the Spanish league with "Real Madrid" and "Barcelona" await in the near future, as well as UEFA Cup matches with "Steaua".
