The Lisbon team signed a two-year contract with defender Joan Capdevila. The Spaniards agreed to release the football player without a transfer fee.
The 33-year-old left-back will replace Fabio Coentrao, who recently parted ways with Real Madrid.
Throughout his career, Capdevila has only played in Spain, wearing the jerseys of teams such as Tarrega, Espanyol, Atletico, and Deportivo La Coruna.
He was one of the leaders of Villarreal, but in the second half of last season, he lost his place in the starting lineup to Jose Catala.
