Munich fans can breathe a sigh of relief - Franck Ribery's injury is not as serious as originally thought.
The French player, who has been plagued by health problems, left the field in pain during a friendly match on Sunday. Later, he claimed that he had torn his knee ligaments.
However, tests revealed that the injury is not as serious as feared. Ribery will be unable to play for about a week and hopes to return to the field in the German Cup match against Braunschweig "Eintracht" on August 1.
Last season, the winger played 25 matches in the German league and scored seven goals.
