The defender of the Lithuanian national team Edgaras Česnauskis could end up at the second strongest club in the English league.
According to "Sport Ekspress", negotiations with the 27-year-old defender from "Rostov" are intensively taking place and could be finished as soon as next week.
"Yes, there is interest, but it's all very fresh, so I cannot comment further," said the Lithuanian to the newspaper.
The information was not denied by agent Oleg Artemov, who will be going to England next week to continue the discussions.
Last season, the Portsmouth team finished 16th out of 24 teams.
