In the Czech city of Ostrava, the fierce battles of the men's European Futsal Championship have been continuing for the second day. The championship, which started in 1996, is being held for the fifth time this year. In Ostrava, eight of the strongest national teams of the old continent are competing, divided into two groups. The teams that secure the first two places in both groups will face each other in the semi-finals on Friday, and the match for third place and the final will take place on Sunday.

Group A

In Group A, the 1999 European champions, the Russian footballers, are currently leading confidently, having won both matches. On the first day, the Russians defeated the Dutch, and on the second day, they crushed the host Czechs. The Czechs are currently in second place, having beaten the Ukrainians. Both the Ukrainians and the Dutch have only played one match so far, and tonight the match between these two countries will take place.

Group B

One of the favorites of the championship, Spain, and Italy have already secured their places in the semi-finals by winning both matches. Defending champions Italy defeated Portugal 8-3 in the first match, and today they impressively defeated Hungary 5-0. Spain also defeated both of these teams, so the winner of the group will be decided by the teams' match on Thursday evening.
