The Senegalese Football Federation has disqualified striker El Hadji Diouf for five years. The player received such a punishment after giving an interview to the press in which he called the country's football leaders corrupt.

The 30-year-old footballer was invited to explain himself, but did not show up. However, he is allowed to appeal.

Diouf will not be able to engage in any football-related activities in his country.

The future looks uncertain for him and his club career: by not showing up on time for the Blackburn camp, he will most likely be forced to leave the team.
