London hopes to finalize negotiations and acquire the services of midfielder Juan Mata in the near future.
The value of the deal could be around 15 million euros, with additional conditions that could increase it to 20 million euros.
The acquisition of Mata would allow manager Arsene Wenger to move Samir Nasri from the wing to the center midfielder position, which has been occupied by Cesc Fabregas, who is likely to move to Barcelona, according to the English press.
The London club is also reportedly interested in a central defender, with possible candidates including Everton's Phil Jagielka, Bolton's Gary Cahill, and Blackburn's Chris Samba.
