London strategist Andre Villas-Boas claims that in the upcoming season he will compete for the title of English champion.
A few days ago, the Manchester club acquired Atletico Madrid striker Sergio Aguero for an impressive sum of 43 million euros and has not hidden its ambitions to fight for the top spots.
"I think it's obvious that this will be a team that will compete for the title," the Portuguese said. "Of course, coach Roberto Mancini should talk about the goals, but I rate their signings positively.
Undoubtedly, Manchester United will defend the title, but Manchester City's activity will bear fruit."
This summer, Chelsea acquired several younger players such as Oriol Romeu and Thibaut Courtois, who will help fight for victories in the future.
"Our team is one of the oldest in the league. We respect these players and know that we can fight for the top spot, but at the same time we also look to the future," Villas-Boas said.
