Spain's champion officially announced that by mutual agreement they are terminating the contract with defender Gabriel Milito, which had one year left to run.

The Argentine is released as a free agent without any fee.

The footballer, who arrived from the "Zaragoza" team in 2007, played only 75 official matches in five years at the Catalan club, mostly spending time treating various injuries.

In particular, G. Milito suffered a serious injury in the spring of 2008 in the Champions League semi-final match against "Manchester United". At that time, the player tore his cruciate ligaments and could not play for 602 days.

The Catalan media report that the Argentine, now a free agent, is most likely to join the ranks of Avellanedos "Independiente", although "Roma", Rome's "Lazio", and "Real Zaragoza" are also interested. G. Milito played for "Independiente" before moving to Europe.
