After terminating his contract with the club, Gabriel Milito signed a three-year contract with Aveljaneda's "Independiente."
The Argentine is returning to his homeland team, where he started his professional career in 1997.
"This day is full of emotions for me," the defender said. "Memories from the years spent in the ranks of 'Independiente' are great. I am happy that we will be able to compete for top positions."
Milito joined Barcelona in 2007, but he was unable to establish himself in the starting lineup. Last season in the Spanish league, he played only 10 matches, starting in 8 of them.
