Decided about his future, Irureta will decide by the end of the month © EuroFootball.com

The head coach of La Coruña, Javier Irureta, says he will decide on his future at the end of the month.

Celebrating his 57th birthday soon, Irureta has been leading La Coruña for seven years, but it is claimed that this season will be his last as a coach. The Spanish coach's contract with Deportivo ends this summer and, although Irureta himself has not confirmed that he will leave the club, there have been ongoing rumors for several months about a possible successor at the helm of Deportivo.

This season, Deportivo has shown a very inconsistent game, and unlike before, they are currently only fighting for a place in the UEFA Cup. Deportivo's hopes of playing in the UEFA Cup next year will largely depend on matches against Sevilla's Betis and Real Madrid. Irureta himself stated that he will make a decision only after these matches.

"On February 20, we will meet Betis, and on the 26th or 27th, we will play against Real," Irureta said. "Then the club and I will decide about the future. In the meantime, I am calm because I have not made a decision yet."
