Official: "Stoke" acquires England national team defender Upson

He signed a contract with London club leaving defender Matthew Upson.

32-year-old footballer, who left the capital team after they dropped to the second division, put his signature on a two-season contract.

"This is a fantastic deal, knowing the experienced and high-level player Matthew is," Stoke manager Tony Pulis rejoiced.

Upson wore the England national team jersey 21 times.
