Veteran Liudovicas Giuly has signed a two-year contract with a club that will compete in the second most powerful league in France.

The 35-year-old footballer is currently a free agent, as he left the "Paris St. Germain" team after last season.

"I cannot leave 'Monaco' in this situation. We will do everything to return to 'Ligue 1'," said the right-back who played for Monaco from 1998 to 2004.

"The management trusts me, and I see a long-term project. The most important thing is what we will achieve on the field."

According to the signed contract, after two years Giuly may stay in the club as one of its employees.

During his career, Giuly, who wore the French national team shirt 17 times, also played for teams such as "Lyon," "Barcelona," and "Roma."
