The former Real Madrid strategist Jose Antonio Camacho will train the Chinese national team, as reported by the local media.
The 56-year-old specialist will replace Gao Hongbo with the task of achieving good results before the 2014 World Cup, although China's national team is shaken by massive corruption scandals.
Camacho led the Spanish national team from 1998 to 2002, achieving the quarterfinals of the 2000 European Championship and the 2002 World Cup.
"Our goal is to qualify for the 2014 World Cup. We have a long-term plan," said the Spaniard.
