Former Spanish national team and club striker Mista announced his retirement from his career.
The 32-year-old footballer moved to the Canadian team "Toronto" last year, but due to injuries, he was unable to perform at his best and was released in November.
"I realized that I will not be able to play as before, so I decided not to torture myself," - said Mista to EFE.
The striker reached the highest heights in Valencia, where he scored 40 goals in 144 matches between 2001-2006.
The striker has also played for teams such as "Tenerife", Madrid's "Atletico", and La Coruna's "Deportivo". He represented his national team twice.
