Legendary Peter Schmeichel defended the new team goalkeeper David De Gea, saying that he needs time to adjust to the new environment.
In June, the Spaniard acquired from Madrid's "Atletico" delighted the fans multiple times by excellently repelling shots, but was also at fault for conceding goals.
"After all, this is Man Utd and Old Trafford stadium, so the environment is completely different," said one of the greatest goalkeepers of all time, Schmeichel. "I watched De Gea in Spain and he always left a great impression on me.
David performed well in the under-21 championship this summer. But, I'll repeat, in Manchester, everything is different, even if you previously played for a team like Atletico."
The team mate was also praised by defender Chris Smalling: "He has saved us from conceding goals many times. In addition, the Spaniard moves well and deals with the ball nicely, so he will definitely become a great goalkeeper."
