Today it was announced that the UEFA Cup match between Bilbao "Athletic" and Vienna "Austria", which was canceled yesterday due to snow, will be rescheduled for a week later, on February 24.
As we mentioned earlier, the match that was supposed to take place yesterday was canceled about half an hour before the scheduled start by Israeli referee Alonas Yefetas. Although about 200 fans gathered to help clear the pitch of a large layer of snow, the referee decided that the ground near one of the goals was too icy and would pose a danger to the players.
Bilbao "Athletic" announced that the match will be played on February 24 in Vienna, and the return leg due to this change will take place on February 27 at the "San Mames" stadium. These changes became possible after the "Athletic" management reached an agreement with "Getafe" regarding the Spanish league match scheduled for February 27. It is believed that this match will be played on March 23.
