The first match in the capital ended in a draw 2-2, so the Catalans celebrated victory with a total score of 5-4.
In the 88th minute of the match, Lionel Messi scored the winning goal with a great shot from the dribble after a pass from Barcelona's newcomer Cesc Fabregas. Just six minutes before that, the Real team had leveled the score and almost secured extra time - Karim Benzema scored after a corner and a mix-up in the penalty area.
Barcelona took the lead from the 15th minute when Andres Iniesta sent the ball into the net after jumping ahead of the goalkeeper, but then the Madrid eleven quickly equalized: Cristiano Ronaldo turned Karim Benzema's shot changing the ball's direction into a goal.
At the end of the first half, the hosts once again took the initiative - the same Messi foiled Iker Casillas technically after a superb Gerardo Pique pass, and after the break, a real drama unfolded.
The highlight of the evening became a mass conflict during stoppage time, with the score 3-2. Real defender Marcelo could not contain his nerves - he roughly brought down Fabregas from behind in the middle of the field and was sent off the field.
Players from both teams rushed to the epicenter of the events and spent several minutes resolving their relationships. The most active participants in the scuffle also saw red cards in front of them - Real's defender Mesut Ozil and Barcelona's forward David Villa, who had already been substituted in the second half.
Jose Mourinho also appeared, as if a kindergarten teacher, wanting to pull Barcelona's assistant coach Tito Vilanova's ear but was pushed and quietly withdrew from the battlefield.
