Romelu Lukaku officially transferred to a London club on Monday. Although the deal with Brussels' "Anderlecht" was announced much earlier, the formalities were only completed on Thursday.
The 18-year-old footballer, often referred to as the new Didier Drogba, was acquired by the Belgian team for about 22 million euros.
"This is a dream come true," Lukaku said. "I've dreamt of playing here since I was 10 years old. I wanted to shake hands with players like John Terry, Frank Lampard, and Didier Drogba.
I'm glad to represent a very ambitious club. That's what I was looking for. I just want to train as much as possible, improve and prove to the coach that I am ready when he needs me."
Wearing the "Anderlecht" jersey in 73 matches, Lukaku scored 33 goals. He also represented the Belgian national team nine times and scored twice.
