The Madrid club shook the summer market by acquiring star Radamel Falcao for 40 million euros. According to additional conditions, the sum can increase up to 45 million euros.

The 25-year-old footballer will still need to undergo a medical examination and agree on personal contract conditions.

Along with the striker from Porto, the defender Ruben Micael is moving to the Spanish capital, who was bought for another 5 million euros. The 25-year-old defender was immediately loaned to the "Real Zaragoza" team.

Falcao shone last season in the ranks of the Portuguese champions and scored a total of 38 goals, 17 of which were in the UEFA Europa League tournament, breaking the legendary Jurgen Klinsmann's record. In total, in 84 matches in the team, he managed to beat opponents' goalkeepers as many as 73 times.

In the Colombian national team, his results are more modest - he scored nine goals in 31 matches.

The new "Atletico" striker started his career at the Buenos Aires "River Plate" team, representing them from 2005 to 2009. Interestingly, this summer he extended his contract with "Porto," as the previous contract included a release clause of only 30 million euros.

In the Spanish team, the newcomer will replace the striker Sergio Aguero, who moved to "Man City" this summer for 43 million euros.

In the near future, the "Atletico" club could be supplemented by the attacking midfielder Diego from "Wolfsburg" for 5 million euros. "Nothing has been decided yet, but I have an offer," the Brazilian said.
