Strategist Roberto Mancini hopes that the club will acquire the London star Samir Nasri by the middle of this week.
On Wednesday, the capital's team travels to Italy to play in the Champions League knockout stage match against "Udinese." If the Frenchman were to appear on the field wearing an "Arsenal" jersey, he would not be able to compete in the prestigious European club football tournament after switching to another team.
"It would be a big problem if Nasri played, but I hope the deal will be done in a day or two," Mancini said. "It is very important that Samir can play in all tournaments."
On Sunday, "Arsenal" coach Arsene Wenger told TF1 television channel that an agreement with "Man City" has not been reached and is "very, very distant."
"Nasri is happy here. At the moment, he is definitely not going anywhere," said Wenger.
According to the BBC, essentially, an agreement between "Man City" and "Arsenal" has already been reached, with a few financial issues remaining to be resolved.
