On Tuesday, the first five clubs that successfully crossed the last UEFA Champions League qualification stage - the knockout matches were revealed.
The ticket to the group stage was won by the Spanish team "Villarreal", who defeated "Odense" 3-0 at home and took revenge for the 0-1 defeat away.
After the break, Giuseppe Rossi scored two goals for the hosts, and defender Carlos Marchena scored once. Interestingly, both teams did not finish the match with full squads: in the 71st minute, the Danish representative Bashkim Kadrii was sent off the field, and shortly after, Borja Valero received a red card for hitting an opponent with his head.
Munich's "Bayern" team convincingly advanced, winning 1-0 against "Zurich" for the second time. The first match ended in a 2-0 victory for the Germans.
Mario Gomez scored the only goal in the return leg in the 7th minute but left the field due to injury after halftime.
Krakow's "Wisla" missed the opportunity to become the first Polish team since 1996 to reach the group stage. "Wisla" lost 1-3 to APOEL from Nicosia away and were eliminated, as they only managed to win the first match at home 1-0.
Zagreb's "Dinamo" eleven secured a tough victory on aggregate, losing 0-2 to "Malmo" but defeating the Swedes 4-3 over two legs.
