Manager of the English Premier League team Queens Park Rangers Neil Warnock was pleased that his players lost the country's League Cup ("Carling Cup") match to Rochdale 0-2 and exited further competition.

"I don't think people care about this tournament," said the strategist, noting that only about 5,000 tickets were sold in the 19,000-seat stadium. "I'm glad we're out. These games could be abolished altogether.

If I can't find motivation, where should players get it from? The match was really not important to us."

Meanwhile, the coach of the third-tier Rochdale, Steve Eyre, disagreed with his colleague's words: "Neil didn't talk like this before the match, and seeing Adel Taarabt and Jay Bothroyd in the opponents' starting lineup, I can say that he took the duel seriously enough.

This is a fantastic tournament. The London Wembley Stadium, where the final will take place, is truly amazing."

Three top-flight teams, Norwich, Swansea, and Sunderland, have already withdrawn from the competition in the first stage of this tournament.

Last season, Birmingham won the trophy, defeating London Arsenal 2-1 in the final.
