Strategist Massimiliano Allegri claims that his team is currently only behind one club.
Last season, "Rossoneri" won the Italian championship, and now they hope to regain glory in the Champions League, where they were knocked out in the round of 16 by London's "Tottenham".
"We lost to Tottenham because we were unlucky and had many injured players," Allegri told La Stampa. "I am sure that when we have a full squad, we are equal to Real Madrid. The only exception is Barcelona."
The specialist specifically singled out the Catalan club as a model to follow.
"I don't have to build a team, but I need to improve it. Milan is not perfect, if that is even possible," the coach reflected. "I'll give you an example: when Barcelona players lose the ball, they try to get it back at a crazy speed. We need to improve this aspect."
Allegri also confirmed that the club should soon sign a contract with Liverpool's midfielder Alberto Aquilani.
