Officially confirmed loan safety to the club of Alberto Aquilani. The deal will be finalized after the player passes a medical examination.

It is announced that the 27-year-old newcomer's contract will be automatically redeemed by the Italian champions for 7 million euros when he plays at least 25 matches.

Aquilani spent last season at Turin's Juventus, where he was also loaned out. However, this summer, returning to Liverpool, he failed to enter coach Kenny Dalglish's plans.

Meanwhile, Milan was looking for reinforcements in the midfield after veteran Andrea Pirlo left.

"Am I the new Pirlo? We are different players, but this fact is an additional responsibility for me," Aquilani told Corriere dello Sport. "I think I can play in any position in the midfield.

"I don't think it will be a problem for me to play 25 matches. I will do everything to earn the coach's trust."

In the first season, the Italian will earn 2 million euros, and after signing a long-term contract, he will receive an additional 2.5 million euros annually.
