Club will have to do without Mathieu Flamini for the next five months. The footballer suffered a knee injury in a friendly match against Turin's Juventus.
The 27-year-old defender, who played 22 matches in the Italian championship last season, will miss half of the season and the entire group stage of the Champions League.
Meanwhile, Milan coach Massimiliano Allegri confirmed that the borrowed defender from Liverpool, Alberto Aquilani, will likely be the last signing this summer.
"I think we are stepping back from the market," the specialist said. "Alberto can play in several positions, so I have no doubt that he will fit well into the team."
