The Liechtenstein national football team has invited 21 players for the match against Lithuania on September 2, almost all of whom play in the Swiss league.

The only foreign player in the Liechtenstein team is goalkeeper Cengiz Bicera of Turkish descent, who plays in the Turkish league. The rest of the players play in the Swiss leagues, even when representing Liechtenstein clubs, as Liechtenstein does not have its own league.

The core of the national team consists of players from "Vaduz," who play in the second division of Switzerland. "Vaduz" team won against the Serbian representative "Vojvodina" this year in the UEFA Europa League, and last year they overcame "Falkirk" from Scotland. Many Liechtenstein players also play for the team "Balzers" in the third division of Switzerland.

The top teams are represented by veteran defender Martin Stocklasa from "St. Gallen," midfielder Martin Büchel from "Zürich," and young defender Sandro Wieser from "Basel."

The team's symbol and veteran forward Mario Frick, who has played a hundred matches for the national team, has returned. The 36-year-old player has played for Italian clubs for nine years and returned to his homeland this year. He missed the June match against Lithuania due to disqualification. This time the experienced forward Thomas Beck faced the same fate.

In preparation for the match against Lithuania, Liechtenstein footballers lost 1-2 to Switzerland in August. Liechtenstein scored a goal in that match after M. Frick's pass, which was scored by Marco Ritzberger from "Vaduz."

On September 2, from 18:00, Liechtenstein will meet the Lithuanian national team at the S.Darius and S.Girenas Stadium in Kaunas, and four days later, they will play against the world champion Spain in Logrono.
