Mauricio Isla and Eduardo Vargas scored accurate shots to put the South American representatives ahead, but after the break, Andres Iniesta appeared on the field to reduce the lead, and Cesc Fabregas scored two more goals.
Chile finished the match with a man down - Pablo Contreras and Jorge Valdivia were sent off the field towards the end of the match.
