Typical Fernando Torres's sports form representing a London club can cost him a place in the Spanish national team.
In January of this year, the former "Liverpool" striker, who joined the capital team for an impressive sum of 58 million euros, played a total of 21 matches, but scored only one goal.
Torres is also struggling in the national team, where he last scored 12 months ago, netting two goals against Liechtenstein's goalkeeper.
In Tuesday's European Championship qualifying match against the same Liechtenstein, the footballer was not even included in the match protocol and remained sitting in the stands. Meanwhile, Alvaro Negredo, who replaced him, scored two goals.
"Torres is an important player, but in the national team, those who stand out in their clubs play, not vice versa," said coach Vicente Del Bosque.
