Joe Cole's safety has already managed to charm his new teammates not only with excellent play, but also... with singing skills.
The Englishman, belonging to "Liverpool" but loaned to French champions, had to perform the usual rookie ritual: sing to the other "Lille" footballers during dinner.
Cole successfully completed the task: his rendition of Hubert Gregg's song "Maybe It's Because I'm A Londoner" received a round of applause.
"This time the song was received better than when I sang it at the "Chelsea" club," Cole joked. "At least this time they didn't throw potatoes at me!"
In his debut match against "St. Etienne," Cole appeared on the field in the second half and, confusing four defenders, made an effective pass.
