During Saturday's Italian championship match against Milan's "Inter," goalkeeper Maarten Stekelenburg suffered a severe injury.
After a sharp pass, opposing defender Lucio attempted to shoot at the goal, but the goalkeeper, who had rushed to the ball first, managed to clear it a moment earlier and received an unintentional blow to the head.
The Dutch national team player lost consciousness and was taken straight to the hospital.
However, doctors stitched the wound with two stitches and assured that the footballer would be discharged home on Sunday, as he did not suffer any serious injuries.
