The Italian national team is planning to hold a training session on a football field confiscated from mafia leaders. This way, the multiple-time planet champions will seek to show support in the fight against organized crime.

The training will take place in the village of Rizicioni in the Calabria region on November 13. At that time, they will be preparing for a friendly match with Uruguay a few days later.

The ndrangheta criminal syndicate, involved in drug trafficking, from which the field was confiscated, is currently considered more powerful than the infamous Sicilian mafia.

Usually, the Italian national team prepares for matches in Florence.
