London security Jack Wilshere will be unable to play for up to five months due to an ankle operation.
The 19-year-old footballer got injured in a friendly match against New York Red Bulls at the end of July's pre-season.
Initially, it was thought that the injury was not severe, but after detailed examinations, a rehabilitation period of four to five months is predicted.
"Thank you all for the support. I feel good, the operation was successful. I am looking forward to starting training again," - Wilshere wrote on the social network Twitter.
