The new head coach of Gelsenkirchen is appointed Huub Stevens.

The former PSV Eindhoven strategist has signed a contract that will be valid until the summer of 2013. In this position, he will replace Ralf Rangnick, who stepped down last week due to health problems.

Stevens is not a newcomer to Gelsenkirchen: the specialist has already coached Schalke from 1996 to 2002 and in 1997 won the UEFA Cup, as well as twice - the German Cup.

In April, Stevens was dismissed by the Austrian club Red Bull Salzburg.
