Manchester United secured a hard-fought victory at home, defeating the league newcomers team Norwich 2-0.
The hosts broke the opponent's defense in the 68th minute when Anderson scored with a close-range header, and soon after, Danny Welbeck doubled the lead after coming on as a substitute.
However, the course of the match could have gone in a different direction, but in the second half, Norwich's Anthony Pilkington missed from the beginning when he was one-on-one with the goalkeeper and later hit the post.
In an emotional Liverpool derby, Liverpool won 2-0 against Everton who finished the match controversially without a sent-off player.
