The new microchip technology should be officially used for the first time at this year's U-20 World Championship in Peru. This was revealed after yesterday's meeting of the International Football Association Board (IFAB).
IFAB will recommend FIFA to test this technology in the match between Nurnburg and Nurnburg reserve teams, which will take place near the "Adidas" headquarters.
Specifically, the sports equipment manufacturer "Adidas" is the developer and improver of this technology.
According to the new technology, a microchip in the ball will transmit a signal to the referee as soon as the ball crosses the goal line. This will avoid potential subjective referee decisions.
